Is there more than 'Simply This'?
Every self-help book in the world, by definition, will tell you that there’s something more that you can be – happier, sexier or more successful. But whether you find yourself at motivational workshops, spiritual retreats, reading endless ‘mind-body-spirit’ books or going to a football match, it will always be ‘simply this’. If something resonates in hearing that there is no journey to take to become ‘more’ anything because there is actually no ‘you’ in the first place, then perhaps life has brought ‘you’ to the threshold of its ever-present, seldom recognized palace – life and its source, undivided. From this viewpoint there is no you or me, no meaning, movement, choice, time or space. This ‘no-thingness’ is our nature. It defies description and yet it feels like home. It’s all we’ve ever longed for. Funnily enough, it’s all we’ve ever been. There’s nothing more to it than that.
If you want to know if there’s more to life, just as it is, you have reached a dead end. Life itself cannot answer – it is what it is – and perhaps in that lies the answer.
